THE CLAN HOTEL DEBUTS ITS FIRST PROPERTY IN SINGAPORE

22 February 21

The newest hotel in the heart of Singapore’s city-centre is now open for bookings.

SINGAPORE, 22 FEBRUARY 2021 – The Clan Hotel Singapore is set to officially open on 1 March 2021, making it the first property to debut under The Clan Hotel brand by Far East Hospitality. This anchors the group’s vision in rethinking what luxury means to a new generation of experience-driven travellers. The hotel is now accepting bookings, offering an opening promotion for stays from 1 March to 31 May.

"There is a sizable domestic demand for new staycation experiences in Singapore as long as international travel remains inaccessible. The modern-day guest is looking for authentic encounters. At the same time, hygiene remains a top priority. The Clan Hotel opens with these in mind. This modern luxury hotel tells a nostalgic story while reflecting on changing times by leveraging technology to adhere to safety and hygiene protocols. This is an opportune time for us to carve a niche and address the market needs as we prepare for recovery." said Mr Arthur Kiong, Chief Executive Officer of Far East Hospitality Management.

The Clan Hotel Singapore: A modern luxury hotel with a nostalgic story to tell

Situated at the crossroads of culture and commerce within the Far East Square heritage precinct and Telok Ayer district, The Clan Hotel Singapore is mere minutes away from commercial buildings in Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar; cultural sites around Chinatown; as well as uniquely Singaporean sights such as Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay.

“The Clan Hotel Singapore offers carefully curated touchpoints and services that will unveil stories of the vicinity and local culture. It brings to the fore the history of clans around Amoy Street, where our forefathers helped Chinese settlers make Singapore their home.” added Mr Kiong who was personally involved in conceptualising the brand and what it has to offer./strong>

Meeting the needs of modern-day travellers, The Clan Hotel Singapore has an inventory of 324 rooms across three distinct room categories—Grand Premier, Premier and Deluxe rooms.

Signature to the hotel are the MASTER Series rooms, comprising 18 Grand Premier and 60 Premier rooms, offering highly customised touchpoints catered to the discerning traveller. Designed to inspire a sense of belonging, the MASTER Series guest experience starts even before their arrival at the hotel, with personalised services like airport check-in, luggage forwarding and luxury airport transfers from a fleet of elegant Mercedes and regal Rolls Royce cars.

Upon arrival at the hotel, guests are greeted with a tea ceremony at the hotel lobby, where self-check-in kiosks are available for those who prefer no-frills, instant access to their rooms. After check-in, all guests will find a welcome amenity kit and complimentary in-room refreshments to enjoy, while soaking in the picturesque view of traditional shophouses and contrasting skyscrapers from their rooms.

Each guest of the MASTER Series rooms will have the option of an in-room check-in experience along with a personalised orientation of the hotel, exclusively arranged for by The Clan Keeper. MASTER Series room guests are also entitled to an all-day breakfast spread to be enjoyed in-room or at the hotel restaurant, luxurious bath amenities with a selection of nourishing essential oils and aromatic salts for an in-room spa experience, a distinct turndown service, as well as access to personal concierge services provided by The Clan Keepers, including personalised shopping and a local precinct tour, among others.

During their stay, guests will also experience the various touchpoints by The Clan Collective—a programme and network comprising a varied group of local craftsmen, artists and influential figures, who are widely regarded as keepers of culture and heritage in Singapore. Their contributions amplify the stories of community and culture within the grounds of the hotel—from invoking a sense of space through the hotel lobby artwork to outfitting The Clan Keepers; the curation of an all-hawker-fare in-room dining menu; and producing a locally brewed craft beer with a story to tell.

About Far East Square

Far East Square is an award-winning conservation development located in the Central Business District (CBD). Built in the early 19th century as part of the first Chinese immigrant settlement south of the Singapore River, it was opened by Far East Organization in 1999 as a heritage mall nestled among 61 restored shop houses transformed into modern offices and shops with diverse F&B options ranging from traditional local cafes to modern fusion restaurants and trendy bars. The mall includes two landmarks - Singapore’s oldest school, Chui Eng Free School which currently houses Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine restaurant, and the city-state’s earliest temple, Fuk Tak Chi Temple now converted into a museum. Further accentuating the rich history of the precinct and the dynamism of Singapore’s CBD, the façade and alley of Far East Square served as a concrete canvas for Jahan Loh, Singapore’s celebrated contemporary artist who is often credited for taking the city-state’s pop art international. In 2013, some of the conservation shop houses were transformed into AMOY, a 37-room boutique hotel. The latest edition to Far East Square in 2021 is a 324-keys modern luxury hotel, The Clan Hotel Singapore.
